THE LITTLE THINGS
Make room
for a good idea.
Somewhere to catch it.
Somewhere to come back to.
Your notes, tasks and deadlines.
Right there on your Mac, when you need them.
That note you meant to revisit. The list hiding behind six windows. The deadline you’d like to keep an eye on.
Give each one a little space of its own. Open a card from your menu bar, or bring it onto your desktop. Keep the useful bits close, and get on with your day.
A place for the plan.
And everything
around it.
Notes and next steps, together. Tick a few things off and try a different colour.
A playful web preview. Your demo changes stay in this page and reset when you reload.
SOMEWHERE BETWEEN AN IDEA AND DONE
A clear next step is a lovely place to start.
One task. Its own space. A few different ways to keep it close.
Open a list with a click. Choose which tasks appear above your work, and show their icon, title, progress, percentage or time remaining.
Move a card away from the menu bar and give it a place beside your work. Keep it above other apps when you need it in sight.
Choose colours, icons, a default font and size. Write rich-text notes or Markdown, add checklists and keep deadlines visible.
Here’s the app itself.
Your lists, notes and next steps.
A little closer to hand.
Keep notes in built-in storage or your own folder of files. No app account required. And when you want a copy, your work can come with you.
Import notes into a list, or work directly with a folder of Markdown and text files.
Export separate Markdown files in a ZIP, organised by list, with a summary report.
Back up the current workspace to JSON. Restore into built-in storage; folder notes keep their files.
Simple tools.
Straight answers.
JotStack is built for Mac and requires macOS 26 or later. The core task, notes and list features don’t require Apple Intelligence.
Choose built-in storage or a folder of Markdown and text files. In folder mode, files stay editable in other apps and subfolders become lists. No JotStack account is required. JSON backups cover the current workspace; restore is available in built-in storage. Markdown ZIP export provides readable files organised by list.
Yes. Import .md or .txt files into a list, or choose a folder workspace to work directly with .md, .markdown and .txt files. External edits appear in your cards. Drag cards together into a group, then switch between them in the sidebar or pull one back onto the desktop.
The optional assistant uses Apple’s on-device model to help rewrite selected text. You review the suggestion before inserting or replacing anything. It needs a compatible Mac, Apple Intelligence enabled, a supported language and the model available. macOS Dictation is available separately, subject to your system settings and permissions.
Set a due date, display the time remaining and enable reminder notifications. Notifications depend on your macOS notification settings and permission.
JotStack is coming soon. The release date, price and download link haven’t been announced yet. This page will be updated when launch details are confirmed.
